Ackim Nkhuwa is a Zambian public health nutritionist and Secretary General of NAZ. He holds a BSc in Public Health Nutrition and works as a District Nutritionist and Tutor. He has UNFPA research experience and is registered with HPCZ.

Ackim Nkhuwa is a dedicated, self-motivated, and highly skilled Zambian professional with a strong background in public health and clinical nutrition. At 32 years old, he brings a unique blend of energy, ambition, and discipline to every responsibility he undertakes. His well-organised approach to work, keen attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities have enabled him to excel in various roles across the health sector. He is an innovative thinker and quick learner who values continuous growth, consistently seeking new knowledge and skills to improve both personal and organisational performance. Currently serving as the Secretary General of the Nutrition Association of Zambia (NAZ), Mr. Nkhuwa has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to advancing the nutrition agenda nationally. This position has provided him with a platform to meaningfully empower fellow nutritionists, coordinate initiatives, and influence policy-level decisions. It also reflects the confidence entrusted in him by his peers and affirms his commitment to the growth and development of the nutrition profession in Zambia. Mr. Nkhuwa's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nutrition from Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (2023), a Diploma in Nutrition from Natural Resources Development College (2018), and a Senior Secondary School Certificate from Madzimoyo Secondary School (2013). He is registered with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and holds memberships in several professional bodies. He serves as Vice-President of the Zambia Union of Nutritionists and Paramedics and is a former Open and Distance Learning President of LMMU (2021-2023). Professionally, Mr. Nkhuwa works as a District Public Health Nutritionist at Chitambo District Health Office, where he monitors all nutrition activities in the district, supervises staff conducting public health nutrition talks, oversees anthropometric measurements, and conducts family planning and antenatal care. He also serves as a Tutor at Chitambo School of Nursing, delivering dietetics lectures, offering human nutrition lessons, demonstrating nutrition assessment techniques, and preparing students for examinations. His experience extends to research and program evaluation. From 2018 to 2019, he worked for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as a Team Lead for SRHR and CSE on an evaluation of behaviour change among young people using TuneMe in Southern Africa. He conducted key informant interviews with stakeholders, researched barriers to access, and worked on Most Significant Change Story Collection.
