Skilled in engaging government, UN, NGOs, donors, and private-sector partners to develop sustainable, market-based solutions and strengthen food systems for improved nutrition outcomes.
I am a Nutrition and Development Professional from Rwanda with a strong commitment to improving the well-being of vulnerable populations through sustainable nutrition, food systems, and resilience-building approaches. My academic background in Nutrition and dietetics and Public Health laid the foundation for my passion for addressing malnutrition, food insecurity, and the underlying social and economic factors that affect the health and development of women, children, and communities. Throughout my career, I have gained diverse national and international experience working with government institutions, non-governmental organizations, academia, the private sector, and the United Nations. This has enabled me to work across both humanitarian and development settings, contributing to nutrition programming, policy development, Food systems, social and behaviour change initiatives, food fortification, refugee nutrition, and livelihood-for-nutrition interventions. In my current role with the World Food Programme (WFP) Rwanda, I support efforts to strengthen nutrition outcomes through policy engagement, partnership building, programme coordination, and technical assistance. I have contributed to the development and implementation of national nutrition strategies, strengthened collaboration among government and development partners, and promoted innovative nutrition solutions through engagement with private-sector enterprises and the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network. I am particularly passionate about advancing sustainable and market-based approaches that improve access to affordable, nutritious foods while creating economic opportunities for local businesses. My work has focused on supporting food fortification initiatives, strengthening nutritious food value chains, and promoting nutrition integration across humanitarian and development programmes. What motivates me is the belief that lasting improvements in nutrition require strong partnerships, evidence-based decision-making, empowered communities, and locally driven solutions. I am committed to leveraging my expertise and experience to contribute to Rwanda’s development agenda by reducing malnutrition, strengthening food systems, building community resilience, and improving the quality of life of vulnerable populations.
