Lilian Bisase Ongeri is an agribusiness entrepreneur, agricultural extension practitioner, researcher, and food systems leader from Kenya. She is the Founder of Agribonga Hub, a youth-led enterprise that promotes climate-smart agriculture, farmer training, digital extension services, and market access for smallholder farmers, with a special focus on youth and women.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Range Management from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Agricultural Extension Education at the University of Eldoret. Her research interests focus on agroecology, food systems transformation, agricultural knowledge dissemination, climate resilience, and youth inclusion in agriculture.
Lilian has worked as a Customer Experience Executive at Safaricom PLC since 2017, where she has received recognition for promoting agripreneurship and sustainability storytelling through the company's AGRIBONGA magazine series. In 2025, she completed the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders at Purdue University, where she studied leadership, entrepreneurship, food security, agricultural innovation, and organizational development.
Her experience spans agricultural research, entrepreneurship development, climate action, rural youth empowerment, food systems leadership, and digital agriculture. She has contributed to the ADCLIM Project on climate-resilient farming systems, participated in the African Food Fellowship, YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa, and several agribusiness incubation programs including KCIC's GreenBiz and BAYE Africa.
Through Agribonga Hub and other community initiatives, she has trained and mentored young farmers, supported knowledge-sharing through digital platforms, advocated for sustainable food systems, and promoted innovative approaches to addressing food insecurity and rural development challenges in Kenya and beyond.
Lilian is passionate about building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems that create opportunities for young people while improving livelihoods and environmental outcomes.
