My journey is rooted in West Pokot County, Kenya, where I have served the public sector for two decades working alongside small-scale farmers. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how intensifying weather and production risks directly cause food insecurity. This reality drove my passion to transition from standard agricultural practices to building climate resilience. To find systemic solutions, I built a strong academic foundation at the University of Nairobi, earning a BSc in Agriculture and an MSc in Horticulture. I am now finalizing my Doctoral studies in Climate Change and Adaptation to bridge the gap between scientific research and field realities. Throughout my career, I have championed collaboration between public and private actors to protect vulnerable communities. This fellowship is the natural next step, allowing me to combine my 20 years of on-the-ground experience with my advanced research to design scalable, climate-smart food systems.
