Now I am working on post harvest losses reduction with equipping farmers in Good Agriculture Practices that give the produce qualifying with the market standard requirements, I link them to the market local and international. It matters as when the rejects are bigger than the qualifying produce it means that we loose inputs and soil.

Solange is a post harvest and value addition specialist at National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), where she is working to upskill farmers and other stakeholders in good agricultural practices. She is passionate about reducing farm losses and is dedicated to making farmers feel proud of themselves through making profits from good markets. Solange holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from the University of Rwanda and is pursuing a Masters of Science in Circular Agro-Economy from the same university.

All food systems opportunities.

Can offer

Knowledge and experience.

Access to finance for the small holder farmers for a consistent supply of their farm produce respecting the contract farming.

Stage 1: Analysis & design

Inclusive access to finance will enhance the capacity of the small holder farmers to produce more quantities and good quality while having access which many times cut them short and be producing in a non consistent way.

Desired system change

Access to finance for small holder rural farmers is still a challenge as it too much expensive but also require much from them. The desired change is make it smooth accessible and affordable.
